What are you doing on National GetOutside Day 2018?

Here at Bike Guide Devon we're delighted to be taking part in the first ever National GetOutside Day. The aim is to get 1 million people active outdoors across the UK on Sunday 30 September. The small part we're playing is to offer a guided ride in East Devon on the morning of the 30th.
National GetOutside Day is organised by Ordnance Survey and falls within ukactive's European Week of Sport. There are a huge range of events taking place across the country with the aim of improving the health of the nation by getting more people, more active, more often.
The benefits of getting outdoors are endless. So, Ordnance Survey is encouraging everyone to put down their screens, step out of their front door with family and friends and have some fun!
There are a myriad of events across the country, or you could just do your own thing and share it with the hashtag @GetOutsideDay!
I’m so glad that Ordnance Survey is putting so much effort into encouraging people to get outside. I know from experience how much better I feel after a walk or bike ride or just breathing the fresh air and watching the birds in the trees. Outdoors is also where I get my best ideas.
Mountain biking is a perfect way to enjoy the outdoors. You discover the beautiful places that we are lucky to have in Devon and meet interesting people. The ride on National GetOutdoors Day is for intermediate riders, but I also offer rides for beginners and a weekly Get Back on a Bike ride for those who haven't cycled for years.
About GetOutside
GetOutside founded by Ordnance Survey is about getting the nation moving outdoors. It’s free, collaborative, and non-commercial to increase participation in all outdoor activities.
It aims to inspire the whole nation and GetOutside is the officially endorsed outdoor engagement campaign in the UK. We’re encouraging people to find new places, create lasting memories and discover the great British countryside. In doing so, we help keep the nation active, fit and healthy.
