Mountain bike breaks in Devon
I offer mountain bike breaks in East Devon throughout the year. Whether you come with your partner, family or as a group of friends, I will design rides to suit you.
The Riding
Designated an area of outstanding natural beauty, East Devon is known for its magnificent red cliffs on the Jurassic coast, its vivid green hills, ancient heathland and trees. It is also one of mountain biking’s best kept secrets.
From the Sid Valley to the Exe Estuary there is cross-country riding for beginner and intermediate mountain bikers. Gentle tracks and swooping singletrack vie with steep climbs and tricky descents. The jewel in the crown is the Pebblebed Heaths (also known as Woodbury Common) where Mountain Biking UK found “a huge amount of fun riding”.
Forget man-made berms and boardwalks at the trail centres. Instead, ride away from the crowds and let me show you the best trails, the ones that only a local knows how to find.
Women's Groups
While I welcome all riders, I am particularly keen to encourage women to give mountain biking a go. I design the rides to suit the level of the group, and can also help you to build your confidence on a bike: giving tips and tricks to improve your skills, and techniques to manage the voice in your head that gets in the way! So why not get a group of together and head on down.
The Accommodation
I partner with Mazzard Farm for accommodation. It offers beautifully designed and well-equipped, holiday cottages. Surrounded by 17 acres of woodland, orchard and gardens, it is a haven of peace and tranquility, with great riding from the doorstep. If you prefer a different type of accommodation, I can recommend places to meet your criteria and price.
